The Wild Within

A Guided Wilderness Expedition for Women

Wind River Range, Wyoming
August 9–14
Dr. Taryn Weil, OTD in partnership with EXUM Mountain Guides

Seven women.
Five days in the backcountry.
One powerful return to yourself.

Hi, I'm Taryn

Hi, I’m Taryn. I’m a Doctor of Occupational Therapy and founder of The True Nature Collective, where I help women reconnect to themselves, each other, and the natural world. I combine coaching, trauma-informed practices, and holistic approaches to guide growth, healing, and confidence.

On this expedition, I’ll weave coaching, journaling, and group dialogue into your backcountry experience so you can return stronger, clearer, and fully present in your own life. This trip is for women who crave adventure, depth, and real connection—with nature, with other women, and with themselves.

This Is Both an Expedition and an Immersion.

It is physically demanding.

It is emotionally spacious.

It is intentionally held.

For five consecutive days, we will move through the Wind River Range — one of the most expansive and remote alpine landscapes in the Lower 48. Granite peaks. Glacial lakes. High alpine passes. Wide valleys where you may not see another group all day.

You will carry your pack.

You will climb.

You will sweat.

You will laugh.

You will breathe deeper than you have in a long time.

And somewhere along the way, something inside you will settle.

And that is where the magic happens.

The Landscape

The Wind River Range.

Towering granite peaks, glacially carved valleys, and hundreds of sparkling alpine lakes stretch across this remote and untamed wilderness. Vast, quiet, and breathtakingly beautiful, the Winds demand presence and reward effort — every step offers perspective, challenge, and the deep magic of being fully alive in nature. Here, mornings are quiet, the sky feels endless, and the mountains remind you what it feels like to breathe, think, and simply be.

Physical Standards

This is a serious backcountry undertaking.

Participants must be able to:

• Carry a 50 lb pack

• Hike up to 6 miles per day

• Sustain 5 consecutive days on trail

• Manage elevation gains up to 2,000 ft in a day

• Travel across uneven alpine terrainThis is not a beginner weekend.

It is achievable — with preparation. Upon acceptance, you will receive a structured physical training guide to build strength and endurance leading up to August.

You do not need to arrive elite.

You do need to commit.

Because when you carry your own weight through real terrain, something powerful happens internally.

You build self-trust.

What Makes This Different From DIY

Yes, you could organize a backpacking trip yourself.

But then you would be: Researching routes. Securing permits. Managing weather. Navigating terrain. Carrying emergency planning. Holding group dynamics.

Most women who feel called to this are already the planners in their lives.

Here, you do not lead.

You arrive.

EXUM handles navigation and risk management.

Logistics are structured.

The route is thoughtfully designed.

And I hold the emotional and reflective container.

You are free to be in your experience instead of running it.

This is the difference between an adventure and a rite of passage.

The Experience Arc

This is not five random days in the wilderness. It is a guided arc.

Pre-Expedition

Two live group coaching calls prior to arrival.

We build connection. We clarify your edge.

We prepare physically and mentally.

We establish intention.

You arrive already grounded.

Five days in the backcountry

• 6-mile hiking days (average)

• Elevation gain up to 2,000 ft

• Camp setup and breakdown

• Backcountry systems and self-sufficiency

• Facilitated coaching + reflection

Phones remain off.

Emergency communication devices are carried by guides.

There will be quiet mornings.

There will be effortful climbs.

There will be laughter in tents.

There will be moments where the mountains crack something open inside you.

You will hear yourself think.

You will remember what matters.

Integration

Two post-expedition calls.

What shifted?

What ah-ha moments did you experience?

What were the whisperings of your soul?

How do you carry this clarity home?

Because the goal is not just to complete a hike.

It is to return home transformed.

What Women Have Experienced
Stories from women who’ve stepped into this work.

The TNC provided a healing space for me to consistently show up for myself. I was in a desperate place of searching for clarity in my life, career and purpose. Through this journey I have found self trust, my most influential lesson. With self trust, I have found myself and learned how to nourish myself first, to be able to be a wife, mom, friend and therapist that has the capacity to be emotionally and physically available for those who matter to me.

Taryn’s ability to hold you in all spaces, while guiding you towards the decisions you deeply desire is incredible.

My business has evolved in ways which better align with my needs. Since I have grown as an individual my business now better reflects its purpose. The group setting and utilization of nature magnified the power of storytelling, healing and sisterhood.

There are so many things to say I don't even know where to start! I feel like a different person - I am showing up with a newfound sense of grounded confidence at work, in relationships and as a professional creative. One of the most profound experiences for me was healing my relationship with the divine feminine, finding a community as sisters and friends who have witnessed me in my vulnerability and authenticity. I am more accountable to myself, my goals, my dreams, and I feel like I have really blossomed and felt so supportive as I stepped into better and better versions of myself.

This tight-knit community of women has helped me to heal, to feel safe, and to connect with deeper parts of myself that have been yearning to be seen, held and validated. I love this program and the sisterhood that I have become a part of because of the TNC.

If you feel pulled to join this group, follow that nudge - you will thank yourself! I am grateful this for this program and all of the growth I have experienced with everyone here <3

I considered hiring Taryn for several months, maybe even a year, and finally felt ready(ish) to take the plunge! I’m so glad I did. I initially reached out seeking help to grow my business, but Taryn has helped me in so many aspects of my life.

Taryn is relatable, open, and honest. I love her vibe and energy. She’s a joy to talk to, I feel held and seen when we work together. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel opening up with such intimate details of my life and mind, but it’s been shockingly easy to share with her. She is professional and kind.

Before coaching I doubted myself constantly. After coaching, I notice the doubts come up and am able to process them and say bye-bye. When the doubts are a bit more stubborn, Taryn is there to soothe my brain when it’s trying to keep me safe and small.

Life after coaching is just more vibrant. More deeply lived. More full. I’ve done a lot of work on myself over the years, and continue to work on myself, but coaching turned up the dial on self worth, self acceptance and self love.

If you’re on the fence, you have two choices: stay on the fence, or take the leap to achieving your dreams. Taryn really is a dream coach. Not sure what your dreams are? She can help with that too!

I see now how sad it is that we have been conditioned to believe that our dreams and our desires are to be considered unattainable and irrational; playing it safe is viewed (if not, encouraged) as the rational and intelligent choice. Taryn brought complete clarity to my life's mandate. And that mandate exceeds the life I thought I was supposed to settle on.This work has had a positive ripple effect on absolutely every aspect of my life as well as all of my relationships. I gained complete trust in myself to follow my dreams and desires as well as trust my ability to handle with grace all of life's challenges. Taryn is a "fire-starter". And the moment one commits to this work, there is absolutely no going back to old ways of thinking and habits.
